Wiper Blade Inserts, Anyone?

So there I was, there I was, there I was in Advance A.P. looking for wiper inserts for my Toyota. All I wanted was the rubber inserts that slide into the wiper arm, not the entire wiper arm. There I stood for 1/2 hour trying to find an 18" insert. Not possible. The only inserts i saw was a universal cut-to-fit type.
The store was selling the entire wiper arm instead of inserts.

Since when did the parts stores stop selling the insert themselves, and switched over to selling the entire wiper arm?

I tried Autozone with the same result. I prefer to save a few bucks and buy just the inserts instead of the entire arm.
It turns out that the arm didn't fit because the Toyota has a hook type end that doesn't connect to the wiper arm that i bought, so i ended up disassembling the arm down to the little rubber strip and putting it back in the original arm .

scrot...I here ya man. My wife has a BMW. They have a one off blade assembly. The dealer wants $80 to replace them. I figured out a way to retro fit a standard blade but like you say, I had to buy the whole arms.

Did not know NAPA sold them. I used to go to the dealer for my camry blades, but got sick of making the trip so I put replacement amco on there.
When I worked at toyota in 95 we allways did the refill thing.

I didn't think anyone made refills anymore. I usually by the whole blade at Walmart for about 3 bucks for trico. The blades are mostly plastic now and do wear.
