I tend to be a bit anal about getting things done right the first time. Here's how I calibrated the fuel gauge. Of course I forgot about the baffle in the tank so I had to do it twice to make sure the float was free when I installed the sender unit. I also had a problem with the bolt flange. The tank bolt pattern did not match the sending unit. I opened up a couple of the bolt holes and all is fine now. The last thing I did before re-installing the tank was wire it up and turn the tank upside to make sure the float moved freely without obstruction. I also set it to make sure I had a little gas left when empty and set the full point to make sure I had some free board in the tank for expansion.
