When the car was delivered my first impressions where that the trunk area appeared to be fairly solid. Of course if it was you could just stop reading here! But the reality is it was much worse...
The truth was revealed after literally diggin in with a punch, and hammer. Which revealed extensive rust issues with the trunk pan, rear pan, and outer rear frame rails.
The rust was so pervasive that the entire lower trunk pan needed to be replaced.
The only bad thing about having a Hudson there is no one making a replacement trunk pan so this meant a home-grown solution was needed.
In following updates I'll show the extent of the rust and the plans made for fabricating a new rear trunk pan replacement.
Of course you can always go to www.49C8.com
-> Custom How To...-> Trunk Pan to see the entire process.
