The old cab needed a lot of paint and rust removable. It was done the old fashion way; grinding, sanding. I took it all down to bare metal. The cab wasn't as bad as first thought. She did have issues with the cab corners and I replaced them after cutting the old ones out. My three months of helping a friend out at his body shop came in real handy with the body work. Hey, I've come a long way since fixing the first 40 Ford's body back when I just got out of high school. Yeah, I used a whole gallon of bondo on a dent in the front fender....didn't know at the time you could beat the dent out and then fill. After many, many hours of filling, shaping and sanding my work; it was time to cover it with a gray body primer. Man what a difference after three coats of high build primer. She was looking GOOD!! The old firewall even took on a new face. Man did I have a a bunch of holes and dings to fill on the firewall.
