Photo 1 shows after installing the crossmember the final location of the shifter handle in first gear, still a decent distance from the dash.
Photo 2 shows after crossmember installation the final location of the shifter handle in reverse, the last picture of this position I uploaded to my journal had the crossmember not yet installed, and the handle contacting the bench seat.
I am hoping to replace the bench seat with buckets next year when I plan on doing a major clean-up of the shop, garage, and everything that should have received attention over the past decade. Some of this stuff has been laying around so long- that it has become totally useless.
Photo 3 shows the transmission protruding through the clearance hole I had to cut in the floor for this swap installation, the very first pictures of this hole are vastly smaller and with MUCH less work involved than the way things sit now, I had to make 5 more cuts in the floor for proper clearance- but now that it's in and done, the floor needs closed back up with new sheet metal and flooring to possibly match the existing floor mat material in there now.
