After surviving the holidays,finally got back to the '38. Used threaded rod with a nut and washer welded to one end, and made a simple hold down for the spare tire.Due to the lack of trunk space because of the wheel tubs,the spare is actually back behind the drivers seat where the factory had originally put it.
