I almost forgot I have one of these stored in my mom's garage ready to assemble. All I need to buy are 5 new tires.
My first car turned out to be a '64 Spitfire followed by a '59 TR3. Other cars I considered at the time were a '37 Chevy sedan with a Chevy 350 (had a badly bent frame, so I passed on it) and a '40 Dodge Business Coupe with a 440 Max Wedge (the owner would not sell it to this 17-yo kid, telling me "you'll kill yourself in it" and he was probably right).
My wife and I dated in that TR3 and it was the only car I ever sold that I regretted selling. I bought this one from a friend who retired to Florida; it was his last unfinished project (he restored a London taxi, a Jag Xk-120 and a '54 Packard prior to the TR3) and he had no garage in FL to keep it in. The Jag is on display at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, VA; he still drives the Packard; a mutual friend purchased the taxi.
My wife thinks I have too many projects. I think I just don't have enough spare time.
