Now that the chassic has been constructed to a basic level it was time to start measuring and fitting the body. The body is a locally made Drag Racing type body. It has huge rear guards for slicks and the guard positioning is some 6" forward of normal. This assumption was calculated from photo's etc. by scaling. Not having access to an authentic T Roadster for measuring makes certain aspects difficult at times.......but that's what Hot Rodding is all about, making things work and adapting etc.etc..
The body width and length appears to be about the same as a an original roadster. Steeling out commenced with 25 x 2 mm square tube frame. This size is specified as "recommended" minimum size for such purposes by the TAC. 25x5mm MS Flat tongues were welded to the frame as suitable fiberglassing points.
As you can see, not much room in the shed. The Hot Rod shares the shed with a 64 Impala Convertible and basic machine shop equipment , lathe, mill, drill presses etc..
**TIP**If you are ever in the situation of building a new garage or workshop, whatever you think you'll need, DOUBLE IT !!, it just might end up being about right ?.
