Been working on a variety of projects. Here's the progress on this big rockcrawler.
Sandblasted the entire frame outside my shop, then brought it back inside to brace it, pull the crossmembers, cut to finished length in rear, and fill the holes.
As it sits tonight, I have filled all 187 holes in the frame portion that I plan to use. The existing crossmember reinforcement in the front where the front suspension, engine, steering box, etc mounted will be removed & replaced with tube once the frame is mocked up on the axles. Although a great piece of frame, I will need about 6" above the axle, which I refuse to raise the finished product to obtain. As integral as this structure is, c'ing this section is not an option.
I also installed a 1" x 1" square tube in the left upper portion inside the frame to run wiring from the fuse block back to rear of the vehicle. This will be followed by a 1 3/4" tube on the inside bottom of each framerail to route the coolant to and from the rear-mounted radiator before the entire frame is boxed.
