this is a piece i made out of 18g steel to blend in the bumper to the body a little better. i use the MIG to spot weld the part in place and see if everything fits good. i use it instead of the TIG because i can use one hand to hold it in place and the other to press the trigger on the MIG gun, it also has a smaller HAZ (heat affected zone) which shrinks the metal less. i try to get the fit as close as possible with only one side hanging over about 1/8" to use as filler. now i just need some leather gloves so i don't cut my hands so much.
