Well, the rest of life has kept me away from the car since I finished the buff of the doors. A couple of days ago Eric and I cut the holes in the doors and the body so we could route the electrical parts for electric door locks and power windows. Picture 1 shows the installed doors, and pictures 2 & 3 show how I protected the paint while I used a metal hole saw to cut the shape for the conduit boots to fit. Normally I would have cut these holes before the paint went on, but at that time we were going to do manuel windows. The "A" Body conduit boots were to small, so I went with the boots from a 2000 S-10 Pickup. They worked great, were free, and now I will be sending the original boots back to AMES for a $55.00 credit!
We are headed to the lake for the fourth, then I am going to the Goodguys PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio next weekend. As always, there is more to come.
