Photo # 1. Following the design, I next drill 1" holes at the ends of each “slot†I am putting in the insert.
Photo # 2. Once again using my angle grinder, I cut out the segment of each slot between the holes I drilled. This photo was taken right after the slots were cut in the panel. Some of the edges still need to be sanded straight and smooth.
Photo # 3. This photo might give you a better idea of the design I am going for. The brown areas (backer board) around the insert will be in upholstery and the slots will be in upholstery.
