The welder appears to know what he's doing, but what I didn't know what he was doing was f*%k*g up some really key areas that I would have to fix again myself.
I mentioned that I would be rolling the fender lips. He said "I can do that" and took it upon himself to do that. What I did not realize, is that he was a dumb $&!t and actually cut a portion of the lip to get it to fold around, then welded it. What a dork when I found this months later, I was cursing.
The other thing that he did, was screw up the new repop fenders. He did not have the inner fenders positioned correctly (too high) when he welded them. This made the fenders sit too high. So he hammered a spoon shape in the top of the fenders to make them match the plane of the cowl.
Well a disaster yet to be discovered at the time the car was in his shop.
