MORRIS 48 "Z" PROJECT (CONT) - Nov 1, 2009

WHEN WE SAT IN OUR BUCKET SEAT WITH THE RUNNERS SITTING FLUSH TO THE FLOOR. THE SEAT BASE WAS TOO FLAT GIVING NO SUPPORT UNDER THE DRIVERS LEGS. AFTER A LITTLE MEASURING WE DECIDED THAT EXTENDING THE FRONT MOUNT PLATE OF THE RUNNER WHERE IT BOLTED TO THE SEAT BASE BY 1" WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. WE FABRICATED A COUPLE PLATES FOR THE JOB AND USED A QUICKLY MADE JIG TO MAKE SURE THE BOLT HOLES ALL LINED UP WHEN THE MODIFIED RUNNERS WERE REFITTED TO THE BASE.
