The stupid design will stay. I think I don't want to throw away 2 or 3 hours worth of time and effort fitting this piece of metal. I welded it in there and it actually got stiffer. It will be hidden in the trunk and painted when its all said and done,, The trunk is mainly done except for a small 3 inch piece in a corner of the trunk. Once the side quarter panels are on the trunk will be completely enclosed. Before I get it to buttoned up I want to add a piece of 3/4 inch conduit along the side frame rail so I can run my rear electrical wiring. This way it will be shielded and easy to snake wires through it. The last hot rod I had I cooked the rear wires from the heat from my exhaust, and they shorted out. I want to be more careful here and more neat. The trunk will contain a spare tire full size and a built in tool box with a tire jack etc and other tools in the built in tool box,so they don't bounce around when I hit bumps. Photos coming..
