No more hot start woes - Dec 23, 2005

I have been going through a nightmare problem with this truck trying to get my hot start problem taken care of. Going over this in the order I switched. First was to replace the battery cables from 6 gauge to 2 gauge. Only 1 of my battery cables is longer than 18 inches, and that is around 30 and is 4 gauge at the moment.
The most important change I made was to switch from a standard starter to a mini starter. This made it so that the back of my starter was not rubbing on the collector and also gave me several more inches between the exhaust pipe and starter.
About my electrical system, I use a ford remote solenoid so that I only have one 2 ga wire going to the starter.
The pictures shown here will hopefully help people realizes the size difference between the 2 starters.
