I drove the 200 plus miles to the Rappin’ to Minden, (NV) Inliner’s car event Friday May 30th. Gordon & Kevin rode up with me. Gordon was the navigator and directed me to the interchanges.
Getting on to 88 without missing the exit required some exciting lane changes in front of a truck and then I had to slow down quickly before the road turned. After that the brakes felt a little soft. I pulled over into a store parking lot and had a look at the master cylinder. It was empty! It was also leaking out from where the brake line mounts to the reservoir. I'll have to talk to Al about that.
Whenever I make any road trips I always bring a set of tools. For whatever reason, I forgot them this time. Gordon picked up some brake fluid and a small adjustable wrench from one of the stores and Kevin added the brake fluid while Gordon pumped the air out of the system.
The rest of the trip went smoothly as we cruised through the country side and the small towns.
The gas was $3.88 a gallon in Minden. Way cheaper than the $4.27 average price back here.
