Didn’t like the idea of having a solid tube coming from the chassis to the steering wheel so after checking with the certifier I have changed it to a system with universals at least if someone hits me the steering will collapse. Cut the VW steering box off at the bottom, acquired a Nissan Pulsar GTIR steering column which has two universals on it. Sent both to an engineering company to have a spline machined on the steering box end.
