The Uncommon Street Rod - Cab bodywork - Dec 4, 2005

The cab was, once again, removed from the chassis and placed on a frame with 4” rollers to help move it around the shop. That was easier than trying to manhandle the entire chassis around. I am, by no means, a body man. I can mix, spread, sand, and prime bondo, but I leave the finish work to the experts. There were numerous areas on the cab that needed attention. All of the panels that were installed needed to be filled in, smoothed out and primed. The roof of the cab was pretty rough shape. Aliens from some far off planet decided to do their version of a square dance on the roof, so it had lots of dents in. I consulted with my body expert and it was decided it would be much more time efficient if I let him perform his magic on it. I agreed. A hole for a third brake light was cut into the body just below the rear window.
