The Uncommon Street Rod - interior prep - Dec 7, 2005

Once the remounting of the cab and bed was completed. The interior was prepped for reassembly. Carpet was planned for the future, but for right now, I applied a pickup bed coating similar in texture and appearance to “Rhino Lining”. Our local bodyshop supply house recommended it and I was quite pleased with how it turned out. First, I masked off the areas I didn’t want covered, scuffed up the paint with a Scotchbrite pad and gave it about 3 coats of the bed liner material. Once dried, I peeled off the masking tape and you see the end result. I was really amazed as to actually how tuff this stuff is. Insulation was applied to the firewall area to keep the engine compartment heat out of the cab area.
