My 1980 Z28 has a mounting plate bolted to the body above my 10 bolt rear end and the bushing is missing causing the differential to travel up when I launch it or accelerate hard does anyone know of a replacement bushing and or after market rear pinion snubber that I could replace it with to improve the cars ability to hook up better and not interfere with the exhaust.

pinion snubber

Well here goes again does anyone out there in hotrodland know of a replacement for a GM corporate 8.5 inch 10 bolt rear end pinion snubber or bumper stop stop it is located and mounted on the floor pan above the differential with 2 screws and a rubber bumperI know chrysler makes them for their 8 3/4 diffs withoutit i wheel hop under a hard launch.

Thanks brother but I have a different set up ,leaf springs and my rear end is a floater no control arms or torque arm just a pinion snubber with the rubber snubber worn off. Any other links perhaps

The pinion snubber on these cars is only there to keep the rear end from hitting the floor on hard bumps. It's not use the way Chrysler used a pinion snubber to controll axle wind up. GM cars use slapper type traction bars or Cal Trax bars to accomplish this and it works better than the pinion snubber.

If you want to make use of a snubber, it will have to adjustable. I have used this piece on various cars. Just have to do some cutting and welding, ie hotrodding.
The stock snubber will never touch until the driveshaft is about to hit the floorboard, thats why GM put it there, which makes it useless for tuning your launch characteristics.
