This is an age old topic but here goes.... I have a 383 stroker with 11:1 comp. (I think) and aluminum Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads, SRP double eye-brow flat tops, Crane cam (525/350 312 degrees advertized), MSD ignition and H-beam rods. It is fairly strong now and will turn 6000 easily. My question is, can I hook a small nitrous kit to this thing and not hurt it or do I need to drop the compression?

If you have forged pistons, you should have no problems. The car I run has 14.7:1 compression and I have had as much as a 300 shot through it without any failure with forged pistons. I also have billet aluminum rods, and a billet steel crank though. Another guy I race with has a 16:1 598 with forged aluminum pistons that regularly sees a 300 shot, and he has never blown his up either.
