I have Mickey Thompson slicks and wondering what would give me the best traction on the streets. Daily driving..lol. Which is safer with the power packed motor, 700 hp. Stay with the wides, or put on a 275 with tread?

Anything with less than a full street tread will get very sketchy on wet pavement, even if only 7" wide. Won't matter what the compound softness or width is.

M/T Drag Radials, ET Street, ET Drag, Hoosier QuickTime Pro and DOT Drag, M&H Racemaster and similar styles will not be good in wet conditions.

You trade wet weather street use tread pattern for dry weather traction in all cases, up to you to choose which to emphasis for your needs.

In dry weather, general rule is the wider, the better for street traction.
Drag Radials do handle a lot better for coornering that a Bias slick or cheater slick.
