I am converting a 39 coupe to a driver. We are changing the front end. I have been advised that the boxed frame would benefit from further stabilization. Would the readers advise an x member or something similar? Does it have to be fabricated or are there stock x members available?

Don't get too crazy about modifying that frame. They are strong as is unless you're looking at putting in a big block highly modified.
Are you going with the Mustang II/ Pinto front end setup? It's a good 'un!

Agreed. I've got a '38 coupe with a 350/350 combination and a Chassis Engineering Mustang II front end. No problems.

What 38 said. I have a '41 Chevy Coupe. Mustang II front end (TCI) and a '76 Camaro Rear-end. No problems. Also 700R Tranny.
