Hello, I live in Stamford, CT, and I have a 1939 Mercury coupe-sedan. It is almost original with the flathead, three speed, and bias tires; it drives fairly well. I want to make corrections and have it for a regular driver. I need to learn about working on an old car as well as where to find parts. This was the first year of issue for Mercury and pre-war so parts are a challenge. I need a right rear fender and running boards. I'm not a mechanic, body man, or able to do upholstery so I will hire a lot of help but I want to know what you guys already know about this type of experience. I just retired so I have time to try to do some of the work myself.
