I have 40 chevy sedan an I need some advice on frame work. I bought the car from a guy a state over from where I live and he has now moved. The problem I am having is, the front clip he said is from a "nova" but I do not know the year. Can anyone give me pointers on identifying what year it might be or if I shud try to find another frame. - Leland

Welcome to HR.com, Leland. If you could post some pictures of the car and frame, I'm sure someone can give you the advice you need.

68-74, the steering arms are behind the crossmember (rear steer)...after that, they are in front (front steer)

In this pic

it shows the steering linkages behind the cross member, so I would say its pre 74. Does it have disk brakes on the front?

It would only help if you had the original Nova wheels and tires on the car, but the front track measured 59.8" (about 59 3/4") on a '68 to '74. Measure from the center of one tire to the center of the other tire on the same axle to find track.
