1955 Buick gasser

Hi guys, my name is Larry and I just discovered this site last nite. I am just collecting info for my project and can use any help I can get. I bought a 1955 Buick 2-door special about 3 months ago. The car is in great shape and could easily be restored, but my interests lie in rodding this car. I am not planning to change the body all that much, but the drive train is a different matter. Any one with info on a straight axel conversion, please contact me ASAP. I also have a problem getting my new Grant steering wheel to fit the undersize steering column shaft. No one seems to make an adapter for this purpose. Can you help? Thanks, from sunny Tucson. - Larry

Larry,
I don't know for sure, but, I think a straight front axle for a 55 Chevy would work. Steering wheel problem, no ideas, except a new column.

Good Luck,

How about making your own adapter for the steering wheel? I've never done it but a friend of mine did. Then again he has acces to CNC machining and he's a machinist. But maybe you know someone who could do that for you, or you can go to a machine shop and they'll be able to custom make one.
