I bought a 57 Ford Fairlane in 2000 because it is the same age as I am and it was cherry. It got stolen in 2003 and it took a few years, 2 years actually, to get it back. I just found out a few days ago that the "upstanding citizen" who paid $250 for the car I paid $9,995 for, stole the engine and tranny out of it and put a chevy engine in there instead. I had a totally original car, all numbers matched and the engine was just rolling to 100,000 miles. does anyone know what kind of a lawyer I would get to go after this creep? I would like to make sure everyone knows what a crook he is, plus I want my engine and tranny back. Does anyone live in Oregon, I live in Forest Grove, Oregon and I build custom cabinets. Anyway, sorry to vent, but it freaked me out. Bye - Anita

First off ...welcome

Was the "upstanding citizen" who change the motor, the one who stole the car?

Doesn't sound like it. Although, he probably knew it was stolen.

When the police recovered the car, why did they not recover the engine also?

. I think the theif is the one who you need to be mad at.

Moving this to the lounge, for further discussion.
