I have a metal dash without the pad in my Impala and I want to change the color. What are the steps to properly prep and paint my dash?

Secondly, I have a headliner that is in great condition, however, I am changing the color of the color scheme. I want to dye the fabric and would like to know the best way to do it.

As far as the painting of the dash, you should post your question in the Body-Exterior section.

You have to take the headliner down to dye it, and you will never get it to go back up exactly how it was put in when it was new. Also, the chances of that headliner being in good shape after 45 years is remote. If I were you, I'd just replace it with one of the right color. Even if you could dye it without destroying it, or shrinking it, it would probably cost more to dye it than replace it. A new one only costs $130. CLICK HERE Even if you can't find one of the right color, I'd try to re-color a new one rather than the old one.

1964 Impala Dash

I would replace the headliner with another one, just trying to save on cost if someone knew of an easy way to dye it. It doesn't look like it is original, however, I have only seen the stars vinyl headliners. If anyone has another answer please let me know.
