I have a 1967 c10 I just installed a 383 stroker. Now it won't go into any gear. It has fluid, vacuum, looks to be bolted on right. Any ideas will help a lot.
when you install the converter you need to feel 2 drops (as my dad would say)
install it and rotate it until is goes in again to catch the pump ears. Also there should about a 3/16 to a 1/4 gap between the flexplate and converter bolts. Usually I stack or shim the gap with 2 flat washers for each hole when i bolt it up to the flex plate. if you pulled the converter all the way forward you might have disengaged it from the front pump.
I actually shimmed it yesterday and put a bit more transmission fluid. It went in to gear finally. Thanks everyone.
