Thanks in advance for your help and opinions.

I have a 1968 Chevelle that is a true SS 396.

The motor is a 396 L78 (correct motor for the car but not the original motor it's from a 68 Camaro) that was completely rebuilt and has some slight modifications - crane cam, roller rocker arms, high rise edelbrock intake, 800 cfm Holley double pumper, weiand water pump and hooker headers. It has an MSD 6AL ignition with a MSD pro billet distributor. It also has an aluminum race radiator.

The transmission is a turbo 400 (from a truck) that was completely rebuilt with a manual valve body and today it is a manual automatic.

It has a 12 bolt posi rear end with ridiculous 4.88 gears in it (I didn't put those in).

It also has qa1 adjustable shocks and traction bars.

Tires are Mickey Thompson street slicks with Cragar S/S wheels.

The brakes are 4 drums that were rebuilt, with new brake lines.

The interior has an 8 point roll cage, but all in all is in pretty decent shape and is pretty much original (I also have the back seat for the car). The seats could be rebuilt and could use a new headliner as well.

The body looks pretty good, but needs paint. There is one small scratch/dent on the front right quarter and the right rear quarter around the wheel needs to be replaced - other than that it is solid at the doors and around the windshields and everywhere else.

Here are some pictures to help you get a better idea of what I've described above.http://1968chevelless396.shutterfly.com/

I've thought about getting it appraised but before I spend the 300-500 I figured I could get a ball park on its value here. I'm really just not sure how much it's worth. Some people have told me between 10-14k another person said between 5-7.5k. So needless to say I'm confused.

This is borderline classified advertising and bartering. Please use the free classifieds and PM's.

If simply asking it's value, that's OK. References to selling it, particularly in the above post, needed to be removed.

I replied to your PM, thanks.
