If you guys have been watching my video blog you will notice this car being extensively worked on and even highlighted in Autorama sitting in only primer. It's finally done and it's a beauty. Here's a few pics I've taken so far. I will take more when it gets final polished and lubed up with final inspection.

on one of my videos you can see me working on this bodyline on the cowl and explaining how to get lines sharp and know they're sharp BEFORE laying primer on them, so nevermind the LS-3 motor.

thanks. I think anyone can do it with practice and a few primes, and a degree of analness. The hard part is doing it when the estimate is made before it's stripped and you have to get it done quicker cause the shop is losing out. That's when it get a little hairy.

Truth be told, we just do the body and paint and then it gets sent off to the building behind ours for engine work and interior. When they come back it's usually for a final polish and that's when we get to appreciate our own work as well as the kick arse work they do. I'm just glad I don't have to do to much to them when they're in this state cause I swear I don't even want to breathe on it now without the fear of something going wrong.

As far as being anal...YES...you have to be your own worse critic...if your not, the it'll pass attitude takes over and that's the difference between good and great.

Whenever I used to hire new employees, I told them that I could be the biggest jerk they ever worked for or the nicest guy they ever worked for...the nice thing was that they got to decide. Similar thing with paint and body, nobody at a car show says did you see that average paint job in the corner, they only talk about the really good ones and the really bad ones...and we get to decide what is said about our own work.

When I get vehicles to the state that your Camaro's at, I hate to give the customer the keys...It's like it's mine.

You may be right, more than 99.99% can do it...they just don't bother.

I'd say. His other car is a fully restored Charger we did for him, but nothing like the prison guard who dumped over 100k for a Chevelle. This guy came in one day when the interior was done and paid for it to be done again cause he didn't like the particular gloss on the leather. One day the painter was messing with him and said if he gave him $600 he'd buff it out again for a show and so he agreed.
