Hi,
I am reviving a 1979 Lincoln Versailles that has been off the road since 1997. So far I have determined that the engine cranks so it is not seized. Next step is to pour some fuel in the carb and see if it fires up. This car came with Ford's varaible venturi carb that has some electronics. I have an old Edelbrock intake and a Holley four barrel that I want to install. I need information about the ignition system ro see what I need to replace. I think that Ford used a crrank trigger wheel for the ignition. I don't have a manual for this car. Where can I get wiring diagrams and description of the components?
Thank you
That car uses a crank position sensor early model were in the rear of the block. Later years moved to the timing cover. Lots of trouble with these sensors causing intermittent or no spark. I believe some of those sensors are like hens teeth to find. I believe some were converted to a dist with pickup. But I may be wrong. It's been years since I've worked on these. Very unique system .
