I was wondering if anybody could tell me where the thermostatic vacuum switch is on a this 1989 chevy astro van it is a 4.3l TBI I probed the conector and am getting code 32 egr solenoid checks out egr valve also able to push on egr valve any ideas would be helpful thanks.

one in the therm housing, and another in the intake near the therm housing

cant miss them, vacuum hoses connect to them...

Its been a long time but if you have a code 32 I don't think you use a TVS for EGR. The computer pulses the vacuum via the EGR solenoid. When the coolant get hot enough maybe 100 degrees the computer controls the system. If I remember correctly the computer will test the system behind the seen by opening the EGR valve at a time you the driver would most likely not notice it, I think at freeway speed and at the same time look at the O2 sensor voltage output looking for a change to verify in a round about way the valve is working. Hope this helps, the EGR solenoid is electric but it can't remember where it is but I think its on the passenger side of the intake manifold.
