if you do not get an answer here, might try
the forums at www.chevelles.com

many of the 442 parts and workings are the same as a Chevelle
Here is a link to another message board where I posted pictures..

It looks like I may need to try and find the whole chanel assembly.

All of the window parts are EXACTLY the same in all "A" bodies of the same "Body" like Sedan, Coupe, convertible. So a Pontiac Tempest is going to have the exact window regulator as a Cutless or a Chevelle or a Skylark.

I can take some photos of mine, it's apart right now. But basically, this is pretty common on these windows. They have one arm on the regulator with a wheel on the end. The wheel will fail and fall out of the track on the bottom of the glass, simple fix.

If you want a super active board where there is a TON, a hundred TONS of information on "A" bodies check out "Team Chevelle" at chevelles.com. I have been visiting there for years it is without a doubt, no comparison the best "A" body site on the net.

Thats good to know about the regulators..As for the glass. Mine don't have any wheels that ride in the track. I just have glass run channels. and both sides are in bad shape as you can see on the olds site where I put the pictures..

I think I can modify the metal glass run channels from JCWhitney. I'm not sure though.. I a truly believe the plastic"clothespin" on th bottom of that glass that rides the guide is bad...

Are the windows suppose to tilt and rub the front upper corners on the channel or is the window suppose to come down and stay in the back channel.
Thanks
Plus I am looking at team chevelle site.
