Can anyone tell me what years and models Buick used the unconventional rear springing arrangement described below?
The fore and aft leaf springs (one each side), mount the rearmost end of the spring on the top of the axle (as opposed to mounting on the frame with a pivot). The center of the spring (normally attached to the axle) is mounted to the frame with a pivot bracket. The other (front) end of the spring mounts to the chassis on a fixed bracket.
The arrangement is not unlike a 1/4 elliptic spring system.
I'm looking for these parts for my next rod and need to know when they were manufactured.
Thanks for the help.
