I'd like to coat the bottom of the chassis of my 70 Camaro. It will be pressure washed, media blasted. What are your opinions for a primer. 2K or Epoxy? Do I need to use an Etching Primer on the bare metal?

I like the epoxy as it gives a better seal against the elements..and I epoxy prime everything before it goes together..I know SPI epoxy is direct to metal and requires no etch..makes it a real easy product to use..these days I am using bedliner on the undersides..makes a quieter ride and keeps the rocks away..

There is nothing to think about here. Epoxy was made for just what you are doing. Urethane primer* is for FILLING or surfacing body work prior to painting.

*Urethane primer is commonly called "2K". However EVERY product that uses a hardener or catalyist is a "2K". Being it has "two components". So epoxy is a "2K" as well.
