oh heres the deal, my girl has a 1983 monte with the 305 4bbl and a th350 on the back of it(all stock). she recently rearended a truck at 50mph but she got lucky and it missed her frame by half an inch. the raditor was basicly wraped around the motor. the only motor prob i saw was a bent alt. the tranny had a few leaks but i fixed those ok now this is where im stumped hen i start the motor it runs kinda smooth the i put it in gear and its like im in an earthquake and almost like its running on 7cyl if u put it in reverse and turn the wheel it stalls.the exhaust sounds funny more putting sound than usual, when u drive it i hear somthing that kinda sounds like valve slap. also when u go to accelerate it shutters alot. there is sumtin wrong wit the choke but after playin with it a while i dont think that is its biggest prob. heres my list of what i think it might be. vacume leak, motor mount, clogged exhaust.

it hase new cap, rotor, bosh wires and plugs.

ok rember the car ran like new befor the accident now it idels a lil slow and rough when in park but u put in gear and it sounds like crap. i checked the pcv just for fun and im getting ok suction there. how do i check the egr?

i went ahead and checked the bounts by the put in gear foot on frake and play with gas method and mounts are good.

oh yeah the vac line to the tranny got cut and my friend told me to plug it so i did. i know these cars used the tranny as a vac advance or sumtin but im thinking it was only for 3rd and 4th for the passing gear or sumtin just trying to give all details.

Come on man, if you must, use spell check....it's free. Well, looking at it again, it's not the spelling, but all i can get is "checked the bounts.........mounts are good" LMAO

Anytime i have ever had the vacuum line of a tranny, it would not shift. Hook that back up and check for vacuum leaks.

you should pretend you were the force that did the damage,,
iff hit in front your motor went back futher than you think,
mounts would of copped a flogging , any vac, elec, lines etc may look ok but worth checking, to where they come from.

Check to see if the cap is cracked.at that impact it could easily fracture.
