Ok guys, I traded for a 96 chev extra cab 4x4 with a 305 Vortec backed with a 5 spd. Truck has suspention lift running 35s. I know regearing will help a good deal, but what else can i do to get more out of truck power wise? The 305 IS the worst thing about it although it runs fine, just like a little more. Its just a driver truck, live in the mountains of NC. Just Wondering? Thank You God Bless!!

I have no experience w/them, but a new chip or reprogramming the engine and tranny computer could be an easy way to pick up some performance. Some units have a feature that will let you reset the speedo calibration for different gears and tire sizes, and readouts for rpm, temps, etc.
