no. and its not "general 1" its "gen. 1" or "1st generation" like small block version 1.0. 2.0 is the LT series, 3.0 is the LS series, 4.0 is the more advanced LS series.

Buick has the distributor in the front, Chevy in the back. What do you think?

FYI ALL GM divisions had their own proprietary engines in the 1960s. The Buick, Olds, Pontiac, and Chevy 350s, for example, are all completely different engines with completely different castings, bore, stroke, and dimensions. The only part that interchanges is the distributor cap.

Be aware that there were cases (mostly 70's and 80's) that Buick (as well as Olds, Pontiac and Caddy) used Chevrolet engines. And vice versa, to some extent.

Pontiac T/A's could have Olds 403's. Many GM cars used the Buick 3.8L V6. That sort of thing, and others.

I asked the question about buick 350's and chevy gen-I 350 because I was about to buy hooker competetion headers for the buick 5.7L 350 and instructions said they would match the 5.7L chevy gen-I 350 .So thanks for the replys gentlemen .
