I have a 350 GM crate motor that burned 7 quarts of oil in 1300 miles! Took a compression check, checked blow by, it doesn't smoke nor leak oil so......what could the problem be? Any info would be helpful! Thanks.
One of my customers had one. The dealer kept giving him the runaround but we found that the valve seals were not installed correctly and a piston ring oil scraper was incorrect. Motor was installed in a stock 65 Chevy pickup. Was using a quart of oil in 100 miles.
Are you sure you're not leaking oil, sometimes it can be hard to find. I had a budy who didnt have a good seal on the rear of his intake and would loose oil out there going down the road and it would hit the exhaust and burn off...just a thought. The other thing is if you are infact burning that much oil your plugs will show it.
