I have a 350 block that i want to make a street car but i don't want to make a 383 of it. from what i here it cost more money and its harder to work on but i don't know. what can i do to it for some power.

Skies the limit, intake upgrades, cam, exhaust. What's your budget and what's your goal, hp level, what car is it going in, what trans, etc.? Most of all, what's your budget, it looks like maybe relatively low?

Ok please consider the following:

If you CAN do engine work do these:
-Camshaft (Good timing)
-Flattop pistons
-Distributer
-Intake Manifold

For low end stuff: (Get all these from Summitracing.com, amazing prices! All these proces are from summit.)
-Headers ($150)
-Cat delete
-Aftermarket exhaust ($300)
-Quadrajet Carb (Will save gas too ) (Buy one used and rebuild it if you can)
-KN Air Filter/Cleaner ($45)
-Spark Plugs($10-50)
-Spark Plug Wires( $50)
-X Pipe for the exhaust system (Can build yourself)
-Change out rear gear to high 3's ($200ish)

Thats my 2 cents

From the spark plugs though you wont really notice much power just FYI

Do you have only the block?, no crank or rods?

thanks everyone. and yes i have block with just about everything in it
