With or without super/turbocharger?
I think you're stretching your goals just a little bit... Your best bet is through the use of a supercharger or nitrous...
aluminum heads, and the max boost you can possibly run without detonation with an 8-71 blower

u just may have a chance, but thats with like initial 7.5:1 comp plus your boost to get that kind of power
your next option would be the N/A 600hp 605ft/lb trq World Products Motown 454 small block for $10,995
Some people may say that this is not possible, and I agree that it is a pretty tall task to beleive, but in the newest Hot Rod, the following motor was built.

383
does not say compression but they do say that it did this on pump gas so you can probably guess around 11:1 max.
AFR 195cc street ported eliminator heads
Speed Demon 850 carb
Victor Jr intake
Comp 287TKR-6 cam (259 264 @.050 .645 .630 106 lsa, numbers are with 1.6 rockers on the intake)

615 hp @ 6800 RPM
528 ft lbs @ 5100 RPM

And this is only the street ported heads that are ~$1450 a set. The comps which flow quite a bit better are available for $2000 a set.

without turbo or blower , carburator only and no nitrous , 11 to 1 comp. race alloy head and mecanic roller cam ,
a lot of my friends dont believe in this project !

That's 160% power to cube ratio. That would put anybody into the engine masters challenge and national recognition easily.

The only way for you to conclusively prove it is to spend your $ 15,000+ to build it.

Without some seriously expensive parts that engine will be on the edge of explosion every time it revs. And it could not be considered a "street" engine by any stretch of the imagination.
Why not go Big Block? A 454 wouldn't be hard (in comparison) to get 600 HP out of. Or, if you have the money, you could build a Keith Black (www.keithblack.com) aluminum block 426 Hemi for under $15,000. That way you would have an engine with the weight of a small block, but the power of a large size Hemi. You can get all parts (somewhat) affordably in a Performance Automotive Warehouse catalog. (www.pawinc.com)

Anyway, that's my two-cents. Good Luck!
A 4" bore 383 won't make that power naturally aspirated on any real life dyno. Don't matter what head you use.

If you have the "cubic dollars" to pay for it, the answer is YES.

Check the links I posted earlier, "bigjoe1" in the forums at speedtalk.com is Joe Sherman.
Car Craft built a blown 355 running on E85 with TFS 215's that apparently does 601hp (but we all know that magazine dyno's are a touch "happy", maybe...) The whole build is likely availiable at www.carcraft.com, but the skinny is: Magnusson high helix 122 blower, TFS 215 heads, 10.2:1 compression, Crane Powermax 288 blower cam, Crane 1.6 gold race rockers, careful spark tuning, and E85 @ 105 octane. If you can believe the mag, detonation free. Price: $6,340.38 US.
Another case of horsepower expectations creep. We started with 300hp, then 400hp, etc, etc.

The next post in this thread will be a guy who claims 700hp from his 283.

I'd believe the magazine guys and professional builders/dyno men before I would believe some-anonymous-body on a website, for sure.
can you get 600 horse from a 383?yes Next ? will it be remotely streetable , answer I doubt it my 355 aproaching 600 naturally aspirated uses 13 to 1 comp. well ported heads, roller cam, eats a steady diet of cam2. Idles at 1800 to 2000 rpm, doesnt run well until over 4000to 4500 rpm. It can be done but may not be feasible for street use.
It is possible, but you will have a redline at min 8000, and no pull under 5000. nascar gets 850hp+ on 358 cubes, and they run 500 miles with 9000+ rpm´s. ill build you a 600+ hp smallblock for 17500$

It just depends on how many RPM! :p

Let's see, those "up-to" ads.....

40 for headers
40 for mufflers
50 for cam
90 for heads
40 for porting
40 for Jackinthebox carburetor
20 for super sucker air filter
50 for SuperDuperIgnition box
20 for pretty yellow wires
30 for multi-tongued spark plugs

30 for 114 octane race fuel

LOL....... :D
