i have a 383, and i want to hit the 450 horepower mark.....i kno this is a pretty broad statement, and i dont kno what heads to buy....my compression ratio is at 10.757:1 with a 67cc head, and i do not want to go over that.
i am running kb 383 claimer pistons 5cc flat tops
.500"/.515" lunati bracketmaster mechanical cam 2500-6500
5.7" eagle i-beams
5140 crank eagle
RPM air gap 1500-6500
and a proform 750

all that is missing are the heads......i want to go cast iron, and keep it under 1000 dollars...im looking at the World S/R Torquers, and the sportsman 2 by world the torquers have 170cc int runners, and the sportsmans have 200cc
also the sportsmans come in 66cc chambers......wat shoul i run to build a little power without burning my wallet.....are the torquers a good power building 383 head.....please input needed

I've seen these heads in person because there shop is only a 12minute drive from my house,And they are in very good quality.And price is fair.Aluminum will be easier on u with that compression,but they have iron heads for $625 same size heads.

Get the highest flowing heads you can afford. Aluminum is better because you can run a half point more compression without detonation. These are reasonably priced by a company with a good reputation.

I would recommend the AFR 195cc heads if you have the money (around $1450) They come fully ported out of the box.

Here is a 383 to compare to. This one is a little radical (248 248 @.050 solid cam), but it gives you an idea what they are capeable of. Also, this was done with the old heads that only flowed around 260 max. The new ones flow 280 and also much better at low lift.
