I have a 1980 jeep CJ7 with a Holly off road carb. I use my jeep for running the dunes at Silver Lake, Hart MI. I do not like my holly off road carb because it does not perform well on the hills in the dunes. I want to change over to an Edelbrock and would like some input on what size carb to get. I am new at being a motor-head, so I am trying to learn as we go.

I would go with a Quadrajet.
However, I am sure if you look around online on various sites on guys who do exactly as you are you'll find info on how to modify your Holley to work.

Yes, DoubleVision is correct. Many 4x4 lovers like the Qudrajet because of the centrally located float bowl. It is able to handle many tougher angles than other carbs. And since they were OEM for several decades, there are billions of them!
