You guys with the '39 and '40 Fords, what are you running for tires and wheels? I'd like to run the widest rear tire possible, within the stock fenders. I'll be running parallel leaf springs and a '58 ford 9" in the rear, and MII in the front. What do you have for backspacing on your rims?

My plans are to run wide whitewall tires with painted steel rims and smoothie hubcaps, when setting up the chassis I'd like to have the tires and wheels I plan on using.

A stock 39 - 40 Ford rear end is 60 inches wide.........measured wheel mounting flange to wheel mounting flange.

A .57 -58 - 59 Ford is 58 inches wide.....

My rear wheels have a 3.5 spacing to the front.......with a stock 40 rear end......your rear end is 2 inches more narrow so I would suggest a 7 inch wide rim with 4 inches of back space.......
