Greetings,

I have a 1970 Corvette with a 350(?) block 3970010.
The Date casting number is all but gone - I can see an "8".
The stamp number pad reads V0705ABT. Very clear- no VIN or other numbers.
What is suffix code ABT?
I know it's not Chevy, but I hope it didn't come out of an Iranian tractor or something totally weird. It actually runs pretty strong.

The casting number is a chevy casting number.
3970010....302.....69....4...Z-28 Camaro
3970010....327.....69....2...Trucks and industrial
3970010....350...69-80...2 or 4
I could not locate a ABT suffix code.

ABT Suffix

Thanks.

Ive seen plenty of references to the block casting 3970010. It's the "ABT" stamped on the pad that bothers me. I'm in the middle of pulling the engine apart, to get to crank, heads, etc to see what's up before I either keep or replace the block. The numbers matching thing is gone no matter what.
