Hotrodders,

I am ready to install the grille center strip on my 40 Chevy. The center strip I have is aftermarket stamped stainless. The original center strip was not on the car when I bought it. The grille, which is the original, I believe, has three holes which appear to have been mounting holes for the center strip, but the aftermarket center strip has no attachment bolts or studs. My guess is that the original center strip had some kind of sheet metal inner structure that was attached to the stainless and included the bolts, but that's just a guess. I've never seen an original grille with the original center strip in place. Can anyone enlighten me? Anyone dealt with this problem? Any suggestions that worked for you?

Thanks, and Happy New Year!
