hi guys...is their a difference in the blocks that have 3 plugs on 1 side versus the 2 plug block...which one is better...thanks...rock

from what i gather the 3 freeze plug version= 4bolt main the less desirable of the 400sbc

They quit making the 4 bolt main in 1972. They used 3 plugs per side in the 4 bolt blocks and some of the early 2 bolt blocks. Some of these have the boss for the middle hole cast in the block, but the hole is not drilled.
