I understand supercharged engines should run lower compression such as 8 to 8:5, however my engine is right at 9:1. Is this to high to run a small amount of boost on a 174 or 177 supercharger? Thanks

depends on the size for the cam. 9:1 is a lot for a mild cammed BBC (less than 260 degrees seat to seat).

if you are running 270 degrees or more cam duration (seat to seat) then you should be ok with a little boost.

timing retard on boost will be important. msd makes a boost timing retard setup.
